Lightweight Large Burner Classic Camping and Backpacking Stove. For Butane

Customer Reviews

I do many of my backpacking/camping/kayaking trips by flying to my destinations. One problem is fuel for my stove. I don't like to mess around with liquids and prefer cartridges. Since you cannot transport fuel on board aircraft I have to pick up my fuel at the destination. When you fly into an airport at some late hour and you stop by the local convenience store you can usually find the green Coleman type propane bottles but you'll have to go to a big city with a good sporting goods store during normal store hours to find the isobutene cartridges. I often have to carry an oversized and heavy propane one burner stove which screws on top of the green propane bottle. So when I read that this stove will accept both butane and propane cartridges I was skeptical.
I was right. It does not accept a propane cartridge. It will accept the standard isobutene cartridge - not a propane cartridge. It's not lightweight either. I have the MSR Pocket Rocket which weighs far less than this. It was nice that this stove even though it does not work on a propane cartridge came with a zipper carrying case. The cheap zipper broke off as I was opening it.
I'm very disappointed in this product. I returned today.

This is an excellent little stove. I had 2 quart of water boiling in less than 5 minutes at an altitude of 10000 ft on a pack-backing trip with my 2 boys. After I prepared their noodles my two boys roasted marshmallows on large flame since campfires are prohibited in Southern Colorado due to fire dangers. The carrying case has a strap so I latched to my pack, so it doesn't take up any space.
The initially ordered a smaller stove but was sent this one by mistake. I am actually glad since I was able to use a larger pot. The seller (JOGR) immediately sent me the correct stove without charging me for this stove even though I told him it was not necessary. So all in all a good experience.

Product Description

This is an excellent larger burner stove, yet still compact! This stove uses is-butane/propane canisters, one is pictured for reference but no fuel is included.

Ultralight, SIMPLE, backpacking camp stove.

If you like doing more than boiling water this is the stove for you. This stove is great because it still works on the small disposable gas canisters your other lightweight stoves work on, but has a nice large work area and burner for frying pans and larger pots. The base and stem of the stove unscrew and it all fits nicely into the nylon storage bag. These stoves wok with any screw top Iso-butane / propane canisters, available just about anywhere, MSR, coleman, Kovea, snow peak, camping gaz, etc.

This stoves arms measure an impressive 7" x 7" that you just won't find in other lightweight stoves!

Stove weighs 7.9 ounces in the case.

This stove will also simmer. It has a fully adjustable flame! This really is an impressive stove.

These would make great primary stoves, back up stoves, emergency, spares, Boy Scout troops etc etc endless possibilities, and the price is right!
