This is what I would call a luxurious windscreen. It is made of heavy gauge stamped sheet metal. It weighs twice as much as a basic homemade windscreen like I normally use, but the extra bulk comes with substantial benefit. This thing stays put No worries about the windscreen being blown away in strong wind or tipping over if you bump it with your pot. The prongs that extend from each end stake it into the ground to prevent such mishaps. The hinges are reasonably strong piano style and the storage case is rigid plastic with a shock cord "keeper" to keep the windscreen from sliding out. Overkill? Maybe for some trips, but in foul weather I will be glad to have it! A good windscreen can save your bacon... literally.
